Yarn Update April 2025

Yarn Studios Update: A Fresh Season, New Faces & A Shiny New Website!

Spring has arrived at Yarn, and with it comes a wave of exciting updates, new studio members, and even more creative energy flowing through our building.

First things first — our website is now live!

We’re so pleased to invite you to explore our new online home. It’s a growing space where you can:

• Meet our resident artists, makers, and photographers

• Check out upcoming workshops and classes

• Book our Event space

• Book in with our creatives directly following links to their websites

If you’re interested in anything creative — from painting and pottery to photography and printmaking — we’d love you to drop by the site and see what’s on. Whether you’re looking to try something new or commission something special, our doors (and now our digital doors) are open.

Welcoming New Studio Members

We’re thrilled to welcome two brilliant new artists to the Yarn Studios community:

Mireille Botros

Mireille is an oil painter specialising in figurative and portrait work. Her studio practice is rich, expressive, and welcoming — and she’s kindly opened her space to other artists who’d like to come and paint alongside her. These relaxed, drop-in sessions are perfect for anyone looking to work in a shared, inspiring environment. Head to her section on the site to find out more and check out her upcoming classes.

Alice Hardman

Alice is a Potter & ceramic artist with a beautiful approach to hand-thrown pottery. She offers intimate, one-to-one pottery wheel sessions for those wanting to explore clay at their own pace. You can find links to her website via our site, and we highly recommend checking out her collaboration with our brilliant GAFFE coffee team — Coffee & Clay classes in the cafe space! It’s the perfect mix of creativity and community in one of the most atmospheric corners of our building.

We’ll be introducing another fantastic painter later this month — so keep an eye out for our next post!

Only Two Studio Spaces Left!

Yes, it’s true — the studios are filling up fast! We now have just two spaces remaining in the building. If you or someone you know has been thinking about joining a vibrant, supportive creative community, now’s the time. Drop us a message or head to the website to find out more.

A Shared Belfast Sink Incoming!

We’re also planning to install a Belfast sink on the middle floor — a small but mighty addition that will give artists a proper shared space to wash brushes, clay-covered hands, and anything else after a day of making. It’s part of our continued mission to make Yarn not just a workspace, but a working space — one that’s useful, communal, and well-loved.

The Canal, The Community & The Vision

Set on the beautiful canal, Yarn Studios is fast becoming a creative hub — a place where people don’t just work, they connect. And there’s more to come. We’ve got our eyes on the building next door, with exciting plans to keep the energy flowing and the community growing. More to come on that soon…

Top Floor Availability — Spread the Word!

We’re still looking for the right partners to rent our top floor space. It’s perfect for yoga, well-being sessions, dance, or fitness classes — and with summer coming, it’s the ideal time to get involved. If you know anyone looking for a space like this, please send them our way.

You’ll be able to find more updates, events and class announcements on our Instagram soon — so keep your eyes peeled and give us a follow if you haven’t already.

We’re really excited about everything that’s happening here — Yarn studio spaces is growing into something special, and we’re so happy to have you as part of it.

With love from the canal,

The Yarn Studios Team
